the past weeks

Heyyyyyy,

I know I haven’t written in a long time, but now I’ll do.

I’ve been working for almost 3 weeks now and I really like it. My colleagues are nice and funny and I like the work.
I could even use my very limited knowledge of the Swedish language, when writing some people in Sweden.
I know I am a genius!!!
Hmm what else can I tell…
Kerstin came in a couple of days before I started working and is right now somewhere in the south island. She’ll be back in a two weeks.
By then Heike should have arrived and we all will get a car. Yeah finally a car.
That will be sooo cool. ‘cause we can travel on the weekends and terrorize the rest of NZ.
I have to think what I’ve been doing in the past weeks.
Kerstin and I went to Mt. Eden. That’s a volcano in the city of Auckland. I know they have tons of volcanos around here. Well we got of the bus at the civic center which is in the middle of the city and decided to walk to Mt. Eden instead of taking the bus.
We walked for over an hour, and it wasn’t the most scenic walk as you can imagine but we found our way to Mt. Eden and started walking up to the summit. About halfway there, we turn around a corner and see a couple of cows standing there on the grass eating and looking at us. THEY HAVE COWS ON VOLCANOS WITHOUT FENCES HERE!!!!!!! How weird is that!?!?!
From the summit you can see the skyline and a couple of islands and all kinds of stuff. The best thing was the crater. It is basically a huge ditch covered with grass. Around the rim are sign in a gazillion languages saying that you are not supposed to enter the crater bc it is a sacred area. Guess what half of the people do up there… read the sign and walk past, or climb over it into the crater. And when they want to get back up and slip on their way bc it has been raining for the past 3 days, they wonder why that happens !! DUH !!
Yeah that was Mt. Eden.
Another day we went to the movies and watched “Chuck and Larry” that was so hilarious! Jannik and Wiebke you gotta watch it, you’ll laugh your head off. It is so much better in English than in German.
Last weekend I made a walk trough eskdale park. It is kinda like hiking on the blue ridge parkway, but after it has rained for a week. There was mud everywhere!!!!!! But is was a lot of fun
I almost forgot to tell yall, they have DOENER in NZ. At least they try, they’re just not as good as the one in Germany.
I think that’s it.

Oh no one more thing. I’m going to a famil, bc nobody else in the office has time to go there. We’ll go from Auckland to the Bay of Islands and do all kinds of fun stuff, like dune boarding and swimming with dolphins and so on.
Of course this work and it is for 3 days over the weekend, so I wasn’t sure if I really wanted to go. It does sound like awful hard work to go in little tour s and cruises, stay at an awesome hotel and get feeded, all weekend long.
But somebody has to do the sacrifice ;o)

I’ll tell you how it was when I get back. It’ll be in mid September.

Ok enough for now, I try to write more often.
